The sculptor is adept at creating a portrait sculpture in a variety of mediums, such as terra cotta, cast stone, carved stone or bronze. He is experienced in creating a likeness from either a living subject or someone who is no longer with us. Toby works from photographs, whether from photos he has taken or photos from the family’s or client’s collection. He will work closely with the client and if possible, with the subject. He has had great success working with the subject, no matter their age, young or old. The other tool the sculptor works with if possible are measurements taken from the subject, this is not vital, but if it is possible the sculptor will take measurements, if the subject is under age, he insists that the guardian has to be with him for the full process of photos and measurements. Photos and measurements for a portrait generally take one to two hours.
